Carolina's Cuban Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Carolina's Cuban Cafe feels like entering a warm, familiar corner of Cuba tucked quietly within Port Richey’s stretch of US-19. This is the kind of relaxed local eatery where days gently slow down, and a sense of genuine welcome wraps around you as naturally as the vibrant colors that adorn the walls. It’s a place where the charm is found not just in the food but in the soft hum of conversation, the easy rhythm between friends and families sharing familiar stories over plates made with care.
Here, the atmosphere invites you to linger without rush—whether you’ve popped in solo for a comforting meal or arrived with a group eager to explore authentic Cuban flavors. The space is humble and unpretentious, with classic booths and tables that quietly encourage connection, a backdrop punctuated by lively, warm paint tones that add just the right splash of cheer.
As the kitchen hums along, aromas of slow-cooked mojo pork and expertly seasoned stews mingle with fresh, crusty Cuban bread that’s just begging to be broken and shared. This isn’t a place for elaborate menus or overly flashy presentations; instead, each dish feels like a story passed down with pride, manifesting as familiar yet lovingly prepared plates—whether that’s perfectly pulled pork, savory empanadas, or those sweet, caramelized plantains that bring a little softness to the meal.
Families find an easy comfort here, with a menu that not only accommodates little diners but also respects the vibrant flavors of Cuban culinary tradition. And while the pace is unhurried, you’ll notice a bright professionalism in the service—attentive without ever feeling intrusive, warm without ever being forced.
Carolina’s quietly holds a place for those who appreciate honest food and heartfelt hospitality, a neighborhood refuge that feels simultaneously grounded and inviting. No matter how many times you return, there’s a subtle and genuine joy in the discovery that each visit brings.

Excellent food. I had grilled chicken with peppers and onions. Yum. We were the only group in the restaurant on a Thursday evening at 6:30 so I fear for their business. It would be a shame if they didn't last. I had a side of fries which were crispy on outside and meaty on the inside. The beans and rice sides looked great and were large servings. We all brought food home. The salad was lettuce, tomato, cukes with onion on top. Outside lighting didn't illuminate the business name.

ALWAYS FRIENDLY, GOOD SERVICE EXCELLENT FOOD! They offer Sodas, lemonade and a variety of beer and wine too. THE PORK EMPANADAS AND THE CUBAN SANDWICH- THE BEST AROUND! The SLICED ROAST PORK SANDWICH, SEARED STEAK w Onions & Rice & black beans were excellent! Great Cuban bread too! Relaxed atmosphere with lively paint, in an understated classic type of decor with booths and tables. CLOSED ON SUNDAYS! A MUST TRY!

Food - cooked to PERFECTION, and beautifully presented. Service - warm, friendly, professional Atmosphere - inviting. If there's one thing you can count on Cubans to do, it's making sure you feel welcome, and have a good time!! Great place for families. Reasonably priced. You can get a delicious sit down meal for less than some drive throughs.

My husband (Cuban, mostly raised in Miami) muttered, "This is the real deal" as he plowed through his plate of masas de puerco (pork chunks). The food is flavorful and authentic, portions are large, prices are fair, and service is friendly and attentive without hovering. Highly recommend

Real Cuban food from real Cubans. Exactly what you want if you're in the area and have a acuban food desire. Had the cuban classic and each version of empanada. All were authentic and good.
